Departure with English/ French speaking guide
Friday Day 1: Hanoi- Sapa
You are free in Hanoi until 8.30 pm when our guide and
driver will transfer you from your hotel to Hanoi railway station for the
overnight train to Sapa. The luxury Victoria Express leaves Hanoi at
21.55pm.
Saturday Day 2: Sapa (B,L)
Our guide and driver is waiting for you at Lao cai railway station. Your
train comes to Lao cai approximately at 6.00 am. Our guide and driver will
accompany you to Sapa far from Lao cai 34km along the steep, terraced
hillsides of the Hoang Lien son mountain range, the breathtaking view on the
way is fantastic. You will have breakfast at Ta van restaurant at Victoria
Sapa hotel then free at leisure to freshen up. Then at 10.00 am we take a
walking tour around the town. Visit Stone Cathedral, built by the French and
is over 100 years old. Another interesting place is Sapa market where local
ethnic minorities walk over mountains and forest to exchange handmade
products. Then walk down to Cat Cat village, directly below Sapa in the
Muong Hoa Valley, home of H'mong people. This gives you a great chance to
communicate with local ethnic minorities and understand their cultures and
daily life. Have great fun with these people, who are so open,
friendly, and honest. Be on the look out for tubs of indigo dye,
which used to dye the hemp cloth, typically used for the H'mongs' clothing.
Cat cat waterfall is just below the village, site of h hydroelectric
station and now pleasant place to rest before tackling the homeward
journey. Overnight at Victoria Sapa Resort.
Sunday Day 3: Sapa-Hanoi (B,L)
This morning, at 9.00 am we leave Sapa for Lao chai and Tavan village. One
of the most enjoyable treks is to follow the main tracks from the Auberge
South thru the Muong Hoa valley for 9 km to a wooden suspension bridge
leading to Tavan village on the opposite side of the river. This is an
absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of
the friendliest people you can meet. Ta van actually consists of 2 villages:
immediately across the bridge is Giay community while further uphill to the
left is a Dao village. From here, we go west to reach Lao chai. Enjoy picnic
lunch along the way. In the afternoon our chauffeurs will take us back
Sapa for the Victoria Express train journey back Hanoi, arriving at
21.15pm. You will arrive in Hanoi at 5.30 am the following morning.
On your own transfer to your hotel Hanoi.
